The temporary crown is placed using a temporary cement so that it gets easily removed when your permanent crown is ready.

Cementing and evaluating the crown
When your crown is ready, the dentist calls you for fixing it. Anesthesia is not given as crowning is a painless process. The temporary crown is removed, checked cleaned if any particles are left over. The crown is evaluated before fixing whether it matches with the neighboring teeth or if it looks well and right.

During evaluation, the dentist will place the crown on the tooth and checks the size whether it is level with other teeth as after fixing, there can’t be any alterations and changes made. Finally, when satisfied, the crown is placed and fixed with permanent cement. Any excess cement is removed by the dentist using dental tool.
