  • Ad banner: Ad banner is a graphic image or other media object that is used as an advertisement.

  • Cost per lead (CPL): The cost is based on number of leads or database files received.
  • Cost per thousand (CPM): A standard measure for selling ads online for every thousand. Here ‘M’ represents the roman number M representing one thousand.
  • Display advertising: A form of online advertising. The advertiser’s message or advertisement is shown on a destination web page. It is generally at the bottom or top or to one side of the content of the web page in a box.
  • Impressions: The number of times a banner ad has been shown to users is called as impressions. Inaccurate impression means, caching and page load errors.
  • Target audience: A specific type of audience for an advertisement. Usually defined in terms of specific demographics like gender, income, age, etc. for media usage, product usage, or product purchase behavior.
  • Third party ad server: These are online ad campaigns conducting independent outsourced companies which are specialize in analyzing the results, tracking, serving, maintaining, managing. These will deliver targeted advertising which is tailored to consumer’s preferences or predicted characteristics or declared.

  • Viral marketing: An advertisement that propagates itself or marketing techniques and advertising that spread like a virus. It happens by getting passed on from market to market and consumer to consumer.
  • Web casting: A broadcast through Internet which is real-time or pre-recorded or live events with audio, video or animation.
