Rear Mounted Radar and Pedestrian Detection System

By | March 8, 2014

While driving it is important to take care of the safety in the automobile. You need to be so with those on road. With more and more people on the road along with an increasing number of those walk there, chances of fatalities getting more. Today, with the advent of new technologies that enable drivers to get warned when there are pedestrians on their way, take appropriate precautionary measure to avoid fatalities. This article deals with rear mounted radar and pedestrian detection system that helps drivers avoid casualties.

Rear mounted radar
Today’s busy life everyone is in a hurry and are rushing to reach their destinations. Due to this, violation of traffic rules, traffic problems and accidents are becoming routine. In addition, parking and backing from parking space has become a common issue.

To avoid this problem, the automakers have come up with a new technology called rear mounted radar system. While backing from the parking area, you may face problems like collision with another car, collision with the pedestrians, collision with trees, etc. Even though you are good in driving, you tend to be involved in fatalities because of haste.

The rear mounted radar system is equipped with cameras and sensors at the rear side of the car.
While your backing from the parking area or when your reversing your car the sensors automatically activates and displaces the rear view on your monitor, which is fixed on the dashboard of your car.

From the display monitor, you can see the rear view clearly and can avoid collision. The sensors present on the rear of the car are used to warn the driver while another vehicle is approaching when your backing from the parking area. The warning is sent through alarm signals.

The radar uses cross path detection technology, which includes visual and alarm indicator. This ensure safe parking and backing out of parking in busy areas.

Night vision and pedestrian detection system.
The night vision system increases drivers’ perception and facilitates seeing in darkness and in poor weather condition beyond the reach of the vehicle headlights. The night vision uses the near infrared and far infrared known as thermal imaging and photon detection ensuring safety driving during night and poor condition.

An advanced system in safety is the pedestrian detection system that enables the driver to track the pedestrian and the direction they are going. The pedestrian’s direction and the distance between the pedestrian and the vehicle are displayed on the monitor. It also informs while they are near to the vehicle through the alarm warning signals to avoid the collision.

These are two new advanced technologies recently equipped in automobiles to avoid accidents at night and poor weather condition.
