Know About Water Yoga

Water yoga also called as aqua yoga is nothing but performing the regular yoga under water. Due to the unique properties of water it is found to be perfect for doing some of the exercises like yoga inside water. People of all fitness levels will enjoy water yoga. Many health problems such as arthritis, obesity, make it difficult to do yoga on land. So for those people who are suffering from such problems, under water yoga is the best solution since water gives full support to the body from all directions.

The buoyancy and the hydrostatic pressure of water gives full support to the body making the standing poses in yoga even more easier. Practicing yogic poses under water will increase the strength and stability of the body over time. It is like an experience with nature. Like the regular yoga water yoga do have a variety of poses and techniques.

The temperature of the water and the time we are spending inside the water is also important. Some particular postures require particular temperatures and under those conditions only they are proved effective. It is not good to stay more than 45 minutes if the temperature of the water is between 80-86degrees. For breathing meditations the temperature should be between 86-90 and the time is to be between 30-45 mts. A warm tranquil environment soothes physically and gives ever active mind.

Water yoga offers unique advantages which were never experienced in any other forms. It strengthens the muscles, relieves joint pains and relaxes the mind. With water yoga we can reap similar and even more benefits which we receive from regular yoga.
